The Chorus

The Bartlesville Choral Society is a 70-voice Community Chorus that has been a vibrant part of the Northeast Oklahoma arts scene since 1976.  The society presents 3 concerts a year, showcasing a wide variety of music from large classical works such as our bi-annual presentation of Handel’s Messiah to programs of shorter varied choral works to pops concerts.

 

The Conductor

 

Susan Mueller is in her 27^th year as conductor of the Choral Society.  A graduate of Oklahoma State and Southern Methodist Universities and a veteran choral educator. she has studied with master conductors Lloyd Pfautsch, Gregg Smith and Charles Bruffy.

 

 

 

Bartlesville Choral Society Welcomes New Singers

To become a member of Bartlesville Choral Society singers must pass a simple audition that includes demonstrations of range, vocal tone, pitch memory and sightsinging abilities.  Interested singers should contact Susan for an audition at 918-333-7870.

June 27, 2010

What's significant about June 27?  Well, aside from being National Sunglasses Day and the anniversary of the first recorded singing of "Happy Birthday to You", June 27 is the day of the Choral Society picnic at Sooner Park.  We're inviting past and present singers to celebrate another successful season and to thank you for your enthusiastic (and delicious!) support of the receptions following our concerts.  The shelter at Sooner Park is reserved, the Rib Crib is catering meat, the miniature golf course has been alerted, and Stan may even pull some old favorites out of the library and bring them along.  We expect things to get underway about 3:00 and should wind up around 6:00.

What you'll need to bring:

Yourself and your spouse/significant other.  Children regularly living with you are welcome!  Drinks (if you want something other than iced tea or water). Lawn chairs for your family.
